Your GENEROSITY FUNDS THE FUTURE
DESCRIPTION
The Scholarship & Welfare Fund of the Alumni Association of Hunter College Inc. is an independent membership corporation established by Hunter College graduates back in 1949 in order to provide financial assistance for top Hunter College students. The Fund is not at all associated with the administration of Hunter College. The Fund is fully funded by alumni, friends and family members of students who attend Hunter College.
The goal of the S&W Fund is to stimulate, encourage and promote the educational welfare of the students and alumni of Hunter College and to voluntarily improve aid and encourage today’s students.
STRATEGY
The S&W Fund needs our help to create a website and logo for the group. These assets must assist with raising visibility, awareness, and ultimately, money for the S&W Fund. Currently, they only have a single page on the Hunter College website.
We want to show that while this organization has a rich heritage, it is in touch with the needs of today’s students. The design should be clean and modern. We want to create a user experience that is easy to navigate and find information. We want clear paths to key content and calls to action.
SOLUTION
Photography should be optimistic and show diversity. Images can show students in academic settings but also every day settings as this fund covers cost-of-living expenses.
The tone of voice of the website copy should be confident and forward-looking. This organization has a rich heritage of being ahead of its time. In 1949, the founders, a predominantly female group, decided that students need more than assistance with education expenses. They need help with every day expenses—housing, clothes, etc.—especially in cold and expensive New York city. For decades, they have helped students that are hungry to learn and build strong futures find a way to do so. This is organization is helping drive the future for students of Hunter College and we want to the copy to reflect that.
